Team Konkura have signed up for the 2013 Race The Sun charity challenge to raise money for sick and disabled babies / children through Action: Medical Research for Children. The challenge involves a 50 mile bike ride through rugged terrain, a climb to the summit of England’s second highest mountain, Helvellyn, which stands at 3,116ft (950m) and a 2 mile kayak across Lake Thirlmere. The course route is shown below:-
The team is made up of Captain Ian Worthington, Vice Captain Stephen Fox, Navigator Jason Stobbart and all-round athlete Michael Poole. I’d like to say we have been training hard already, but that starts next week! - honest!!

We have a target of £2000 to raise, but our aim is to generate much more to support the brilliant Action Charity and the amazing work it does for sick and disabled babies and children.  We would be immensely grateful for any support you could give to this worthwhile cause. Please sponsor us at http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/teamkonkuras013rts81

Over the coming months the team will be taking part in various online challenges to assist our training and benchmark our improvements (or decline!). Feel free to take part, and see if you can better the scores posted by the team:-
